Some people (PY) already posted in the other one but it would be nice to get the rest all collected here. Right now Jim is driving us West through Ohio. Jon is napping. Most everyone else is home already, so they should all be ready to post soon now. Jimbo would like to note that he will be sharing all his photos and videos of the meet in this topic. Posts: 1866 Aug 17 09 10:14 PM eats your heart out More My Recent Posts	some initial thoughts: -So nice to be back at the Weatherton's. They're like 2nd parents and always are so nice and friendly. The food and hospitality was top notch as usual. -The house was as nice as ever. They added a new back yard game called ladder ball. I got to participate some and had some fun. I couldn't tell there had been a flood in the basement earlier in the year which almost saw the meet canceled! -I drove this year essentially by myself. I got to bring an old friend Patrick Murray, aka Pat. He has a suspended license and couldn't drive however, so I had to drive it all myself. I logged 37 and a half hours and 2200 miles in all, there and back and in between. Only time I almost got killed was when I had picked up Wheat and DK and was heading back to the house... one of them can talk about that:-p -Pat was my navigator, which was really needed going to pick up DK at the metro near down town Richmond. -I stayed at karter Dave Smith's house on the way there. He cooked me and Pat steaks for supper. We got some early kart in as well and just hung out and relaxed. Super nice guy, would like to see Dave again sometime. -Aw, a magnum will post more tomorrow about gaming, events, people, etc. after I get some sleep and go back to work:) We each owe a death, there are no exceptions, I know that, but sometimes, oh God, the Green Mile is so long. I had a great time this year... it was sorta casual, laid back, even. For just the 2 days I was there, it was still definitely worth it. Dylan was excited about the trip and said it exceeded his expectations still (he may post in here soon). Did we make quota on Jimbo fat jokes? It's not too late! I think Hutch was my favorite new person of the year. Lockwood was a good guy (kid?), a suitable target for rookie hazing but ultimately there's respect in that. Seems how Duff showed up and raped me in ping pong, my peak moment of accomplishment was actually captured in a snapshot by jimbo: And Liz, the girl talk was fun. Posts: 1866 Aug 18 09 2:43 PM eats your heart out More My Recent Posts	Some more, after work impressions: -Right when we arrived at the house, Mark Jones, Patrik Nilsson, and Andrew Weatherton got there as well. So, we all got to get unpacked and pick our favorite spots in the house for sleeping. Then it was immediately into hitting WR's for Patrik. Got to watch him and Andrew playing Mickey's Speedway USA. Andrew got Patrik an NTSC cartridge, which is apparently faster for some tracks? He'd have to explain it. Anyways, he hit several WR's (that were his own) and got them on tape. Hope he uploads them when he gets home! -The next part of the trip was sort of fun, going with Pat to pick up DK and Wheat in Richmond. Even with directions, I almost got lost (I mean, wth google maps: "Take a U turn" does not constitute good directions, IMO). I enjoyed talking what little I could with Wheat and DK on the ride home, although by that time I was pretty exhausted. I can confirm that there was some GLB talked during the trip, because they did on the ride by to the house. -People arrived off and on all night/morning. Last to arrive were Derek, Dylan, and Adam, at around 8:30 on Friday morning. Last on the opening day/night were PYL and Liz, who were behind track (wtg PYL). I was sort of concerned no one would make it in the evening because of the delays: Charlotte screwed over Lockwood and Infil on delays (construction), and Eddie and Greg were delayed indefinitely because of bad weather somewhere. Fortuitously enough, they were all able to arrive within an hour of each other and catch a cab with Hutch (which Lockwood paid most of. lol. Hope they paid him back) -I'd like to say special thanks to Trent, who took time out of his way to pick up the guys at DC. Wouldn't have been possible without you, man. will add on to this later.
