I think it should be pretty tough getting a Mauler that way. And 2 phoenix shots is just gonna loose time. Unless you can somehow shoot the rotating pillar so the explosion takes some health of him?...nah.

well it was a 18.09 door + more boosts at the end (since you don't change weapon and wait for the mauler charge up shot) will make it perfect in two phoenix shots.

and btw, 2 phoenix head shots never work. Is it PAL or what?

I've done it ONCE, but I can't remember if it was NTSC or PAL (probably NTSC), and I don't have it on video, sadly.

Then 24 is definetly possible because 2 phoenix shots won't waste that much time

You can't get a mauler like that PA! You can't pick up weapons whilst looking down.

edit: oh, maybe you don't even want a mauler? How many shots can you phoenix to death in? I'm reading two, but I thought it was like... 11.

Another thing: Changing strafe at a corner is slower than changing whilst going forward. Check out lots of karl's vids... Villa A, Chicago SA and you'll see he does this. This is why he invented getting the mauler the way he does on WAR!

Wouter you're full of @#%$. Ditch this phoenix only strat. It hardly takes any time to get a mauler if you do it hardcore. If you're going for 24 you have to take risks, so just turn off autoaim and as you're changing from left strafe to right strafe, fire a shell and hope you hit, then get back into boosting immediately.

Yeah, one time i managed to take out the king on agent with 2 phoenix shots, i was like whoa, this is easy, so i tryed about 50 more times, with no luck. Im not sure how it took him out with only 2 shots, but it is possible. The run was only a 29 though, but i don't boost at all.

Are you sure you don't just *think* those events took place? I was dead sure a building near me had a concave up parabolic base, and that turned out to be total BS.

Shooting Skedar in the tail kills them faster than shooting them in the head. Of course, a tail shot is almost impossible to pull off consistantly - It's what likely happened on these "two shot kill"s.

I meant that If I continued that Run with the door opened, (you'll always get less than 18.9 Door with my strat) then Give yourself 5, 6 More Boosts (saves like 0.5 more time) and then a Perfect king shot with phoenix = 24

btw, Can Anyone Tape the run with killing the king in 2 phoenix shots, I tried for like 2hrs but this didn't work. I want any PAL Player to test that out.

I am 100% certain that I killed him with 2 Phoenix shots. As far as I remember I hit his head, maybe it has special weak spots, that's why I said it's more something for tool-assisted players to do.

Matt didnt say to fire that shot while looking down, he said to shoot while turning the corner. You're assuming stuff.

But seeing as I said that you can't pick up a mauler looking down, isn't it directly implied that at some stage you're going to look up to pick up the mauler? I outlined the strat in 2 lines; i'm not going to mention every obvious detail. Do you think the strat doesn't involve killing the king because I didn't say it?

Here I am talking to the person who thinks more of proof than anyone else, but he's expecting me to believe something I haven't seen. Anyway i've changed my opinion since Ryan said it could have been tail shots, so I do believe you did it. I dont' think that strat would be faster anyway.
